Sunday Departure (July 13)

7:30 a.m. Meet at Church (Drop off luggage at the buses)

7:50 a.m. Assemble for prayer and bus assignments

8:00 a.m. Depart for Camp

Lunch for Sunday (July 13)

Please bring a sack lunch for Sunday. Beverage will be provided. We will eat lunch on the bus on the way to Blue Horizon.

Food Needs (Bring Sunday, July 13)

Grades 7, 9, 11 should bring a large box of cereal
Grades 8, 10, 12 should bring a large batch of homemade cookies (no icing please) packed in a disposable container.
Bring items with you to Sunday morning registration. Do NOT pack in luggage.

Friday’s Return (July 18)

We will return to First Baptist Nashville at approximately 6:00 p.m.

Transportation

Transportation to Summer Camp is provided by Gray Line of Nashville.
Staff will supervise buses.

Parent Breakfast (8-9am, Sunday, July 13)

Parents and siblings of campers are invited to join us for breakfast hosted by the Connecting Class in the Rec Center Game Room following the students’ departure for camp. This will be a time to connect with other families, pray for the students, and enjoy a meal!

Camp T-shirts

Students will receive their camp T-shirts at camp, and we will take a group picture later in the week. For the Sunday morning of departure, we ask that all students wear a previous camp t-shirt if they have one or another similar shirt of that type.

Medication

If your student is presently taking any medications on a regular basis or if they have special medication in case of emergency, please let our camp nurses know of this situation. Shiela Thompson, Lucinda Stewart, and Tina Foust are professional nurses and will be serving as our Camp Medics for the week.

What to Take

  • Bible, Pen and Notepaper
  • 1 or 2 beach/pool towels
  • 1 or 2 bath towels
  • Linens or sleeping bag and pillow for bunk bed mattress
  • Look and smell good stuff
  • Casual clothes, shorts, T-shirts *Shirts with sleeves are required for all worship services and meals.
  • A set of clothes that can get messy!
  • Water bottle
  • Date Night Attire — Wild West
  • Variety Show stuff
  • Bug spray
  • May bring spending money *Please no bills larger than a $10!
  • Required medications –*check in with a nurse
  • SUNSCREEN – It is a must!
  • Bathing suit (modesty is our policy) *Girls – one-piece swimsuits. Tank-inis are allowed as long as the midriff is covered.

What to Leave Home

  • Cell phones, pagers and beepers Alcohol, drugs, tobacco, or fireworks *All are against camp and church policy and will have a zero tolerance.
  • Jewelry or valuables
  • Squirt guns, water balloons, etc.
  • Skateboards or roller blades
  • Laser pointers, large pocket knives, noise makers, matches, lighters
  • Spending money - Everything from meals to transportation is covered in your camp fee. Your student will only need a minimal amount of spending money to cover any junk food cravings they might incur. Please do not let your student carry too much money for safety reasons. Please no bills larger than a $10. We will be pre-selling Snack Cabin debit cards so students do not have to carry money with them during the day. You may buy yours at the camper/parent meetings or at camp.

Camp report

Please join us on Sunday evening, July 20, at 6:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Nashville Sanctuary as our students share with you about their experiences at Camp 08.
