Joe A. Fitzpatrick, Worship and Music Pastor

Education: Master of Church Music Conducting and Voice, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas; Bachelor of Music Education Trumpet and Voice, Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Oklahoma

Experience: Park Hill Baptist Church, North Little Rock, Arkansas:  Worship Pastor (1989-2009); Mandarin Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Florida:  Minister of Music (1985-1989); Travis Avenue Baptist Church, Fort Worth, Texas:  Music Intern (1983-1984); First Baptist Church, Yale, Oklahoma:  Minister of Music (1976-1982)

Family: Joe is married to Gwenn Robertson Fitzpatrick and they have two children; Robert Sean and Melodie Marie.

Laurie Hall, Music Assistant

Education: Bachelor in Physics, Belmont University, Nashville, Tennessee.

Experience: Music assistant at First Baptist Nashville since August 1992. Also directs the first grade children’s choir, works with the Youth Choir, and is a member of both the Sanctuary Ringers and Chamber Singers. She has a lifetime of education in music, growing up as a minster of music’s daughter.

Family: Laurie and her husband, Tim, have three children – Katherine, Stephen, and Patrick, all in graduate school and college.

Russell Davis, Worshpi and Music Associate/Church Organist

Jason Cox, Worship & Music Associate

Education: Belmont University School of Music with a degree in Commercial Voice Performance.

Experience: Jason is a Dove Award nominated songwriter who has written choral works and chart-topping singles. His songs have been recorded by artists such as Alison Krauss, Anthony Evans, One Girl Nation, Gary Chapman, and others. A worship leader for over 15 years, he has toured nationally and internationally. Jason has served as a worship leader and artist-in-residence at Providence Church in Knoxville, and with Brentwood Baptist Church.

Family: He is a native of Jacksonville, Florida, and has called Nashville home for over eleven years. Jason met his wife, Lena, who was also a Commercial Voice Major while attending Belmont. They have been married for six years and reside in Franklin.

Kim Hester, Church Pianist

Education: Furman University, Greenville, South Carolina.

Experience: Church pianist at First Baptist Nashville since September 1993. Spent 17 years as Senior Pastor’s Assistant. Currently a member of First Baptist Nashville’s Master Plan Implementation Committee. Worship Resources Coordinator for Celebrating Grace, Inc.

Family: Kim and her husband, Jimmy, are the parents of two grown sons, Jordan and Justin, and take great delight in their grandchildren, Eli and Olive.
