Our senior adults are among the most active members of our church. If you would like more information, please contact Sam Sanders, minister to senior adults, at 664-6051 or via our online email form.
There are many Bible Study department and class options for seniors. Our leaders are highly qualified and experienced. We focus on strong Biblical teaching and building relationships. We want our guests to become a part of our family. We invite our senior guests to visit more than one department and attend where they feel most comfortable.
We also have a strong Discipleship Training group that meets on Sunday evening. This group does studies on a wide variety of topics.
Another facet of our senior ministry is our Home-Bound Ministry. This organization, headed by Delores Foust and Shirley Leeburn, provides visits on a regular basis to those who cannot come to church.
The Friendshippers, many of whom come from senior apartments on our shuttle bus, meet each Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. We have a game/recreation time from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. followed by a program, usually involving an outside guest, from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. We then enjoy an inexpensive (but very good !) lunch.
The JuniorSeniors are our more mobile senior adults who meet once a month (fourth Thursdays from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m.) for dinner at the Piccadilly Cafeteria on Murfreesboro Road. These monthly meetings feature an interesting program, usually involving an outside speaker. The JuniorSeniors also enjoy an elaborate banquet each fall and spring.
Both of these fun groups are open to anyone who is interested.
