There are many Bible Study department and class options for seniors. Our leaders are highly qualified and experienced. We major on strong Biblical teaching and building relationships. We want our guests to become a part of our family. We invite our senior guests to visit more than one department and attend where they feel most comfortable.
We also have a strong Discipleship Training group that meets on Sunday evening. This group does studies on a wide variety of topics.
Another facet of our senior ministry is our Home-Bound Ministry. This organization, headed by Delores Foust and Shirley Leeburn, provides visits on a regular basis to those who cannot come to church.
We have two senior social organizations. The Friendshippers, many of whom come from Senior Apartments on our shuttle bus, meet Monday mornings from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. We have a game/recreation time from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, then a program, usually involving an outside guest, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. We then have an inexpensive, but very good lunch.
The Junior/Seniors are our more mobile seniors who meet once a month (fourth Thursdays from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM) for dinner at the Piccadilly Cafeteria on Murfreesboro Road. This group also has an interesting program usually involving an outside speaker. Both these groups are open to anyone who is interested.
The Senior Adult Ministry singers, a choir composed and directed solely by seasoned adults, meet from September through May at 4:00pm on Wednesdays in the choir room. There will be a number of opportunities to perform during the year.
Our senior adults are among the most active members of our church. If you would like more information, please contact Sam Sanders, Minister of Senior Adults at (615) 664-6051, or via our online email form.
