Creative Hands

First Thursday of each month  |  TOMORROW   |   10 a.m. – 3 p.m., Room 460

We are holding monthly meetings for women of all ages to create handcrafted items that will spread God’s redeeming message throughout the world. We’ll make evangelism dolls for local and world missions and create yarn-covered crosses. All skill levels are invited to come for an hour, or the entire time.

Mountain Movers Fly Fishing Outing

Men   |   May 12 – 14   |   $200 per person

The Mountain Movers of First Baptist Nashville will make their annual fishing trip to the Tellico River in east Tennessee on May 12 –14. We’ll leave the church parking lot at 6:30 a.m. and return Saturday evening. The cost will be less than $200 per person for cabins, food, gas and licenses. We will stay in Tellico Plains at the Mountain View Cabins. Fishing will be on the Tellico, Bald and North river systems for native and stocked trout. We will prepare our meals—breakfast in the cabins, trail lunches and grilled dinners. Bring a lunch for the first day. Fishing can be by fly rod or spinning equipment. Portions of the stream are limited to single hooks. You do not need prior experience or equipment. Waders and rods are available if you need them. Fly-casting instruction will be available in the gym prior to the trip. Wilburn Honeycutt will assist those needing further instruction on the stream. It is a beautiful area in the Cherokee National Forest. There are many hiking trails if you are not a fisherman.
Please contact Wilburn Honeycutt at 584.0473 or swh@honeycuttengineering.com if you plan to attend, as cabin space is limited.

Wonderful Words of Life

featuring

The Children’s Music Ministry
Sunday, May 15 | 6 p.m. | Sanctuary

Sing them over again to me,
Wonderful words of life...

This familiar hymn text sums up the goal of learning in the Children’s Music Ministry this year. In this year of emphasis on the Bible at First Baptist Nashville, our children have been learning songs based on the Scriptures. Plan to join us to hear them sing these “Wonderful Words of Life” in the year-end celebration program on Sunday, May 15, at 6:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary.

Encourage A High School Senior

You have an opportunity to encourage the high school seniors as they reach this milestone into adulthood. Blank cards and envelopes are available in the Foyer and may be placed in the mailbox provided for your convenience. These note cards offer a way to share memories, appreciation, encouragement, a favorite Bible verse, or a promise to remember them in prayer. We will collect cards through Wednesday, May 18. Please take the time to show you care and fill out a card! We will recognize our graduating seniors during worship on Sunday, May 22.

May Churchwide Collection

The May collection is for non-perishable food that will be taken to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Nashville. For one in six Americans, hunger is a reality. We are in contact with people affected by hunger, even though we might not be aware of it. Second Harvest Food Bank distributes food to our community through more than 400 not-for-profit agencies in 46 counties in Middle Tennessee. Their partners include food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, child care facilities, senior centers, group homes, and youth enrichment programs. You may drop off food items in the collection bins located inside First Baptist Nashville.

Have you taken photos of a church event? If so, make sure you burn a disc of the full-size images and bring it to the communications office for permanent storage.
