Arctic Edge: Vacation Bible School 2006
First Baptist Nashville invites all children ages 4 (as of October 1, 2005) through grade 6 to join us for great adventures and fantastic discoveries. Pack your snow gear and trek north as you find the courage required to follow Jesus! Arctic Edge is a unique experience that will challenge our XPOs ("Xtreme Polar Outlanders, a.k.a. kids) to hike across the tundra, explore the seascape by kayak, and skim the flat country in a float plane. Bible stories, music, crafts, recreation, and snacks are all combined to provide kids with an adventure-filled week designed especially for them. Along the way, XPOs will test their limits in the challenges of the vast Arctic wilderness and learn that God is always with them.
We are happy to offer this remarkable adventure to our children and their friends. We have trained an excellent group of Trailblazers (teachers, that is!) for this excursion. Our motto - Be strong! Be courageous! Follow Jesus! - will give us encouragement and motivation during the week's challenges.
Each day the XPOs (grades 1-6) will begin to gather in the Rec Center at 8:45am before going to the Bible Study Campsite at 9:00am. The preschool XPOs (fours & fives) will go directly to their classrooms to begin their trip. For extra fun, there will be a special daily emphasis.

Each day will conclude at noon with the Worship Rally Outpost, a time of singing, mission stories, drama video and giving of an offering. This will conclude the day for some XPOs, and parents will need to pick up their ramblers from Big Bear Lodge (your child's Bible study class).
VBS Plus
There is still more fun planned with VBS Plus, which begins at noon Monday - Friday with lunch brought from home. After lunch we will gather at the Recreation Center to begin our sports activities with the Infinity Sports team. Infinity Sports operates in a covenant relationship with Great Commission Christian organizations to mobilize Christian sports resources, Christian sportsmen and sportswomen, into closed and restricted access locations for the purpose of evangelism and church planting among Unreached People Groups and Major Gateway Cities. The cost will be $30 per child ($20 each additional child, same family). This includes 5 days of sports classes, t-shirt, group picture and snack.
Preschool 4 and 5 will also meet for VBS Plus (teachers will plan their schedule) in the afternoons in rooms 355 and 356, at a cost of $25.00 per child.
On Wednesday night, July 12, parents can come back with their XPO and share the adventure with us at VBS Family Night! Parents are invited to come and visit their children's rooms from 5:30-6:00pm. Dinner will be served at 5:00pm and our Arctic Edge program will follow at 6:10pm.
