A Day with Calvin Miller and Ken Medema

Mark your calendars for Sunday, April 30. Calvin Miller and Ken Medema will be our special guests for two meaningful times of worship that day.

Calvin Miller is one of America’s most accomplished authors with more than 40 books of popular theology and inspiration to his credit. A gifted storyteller and well-known speaker, Dr. Miller seeks to help the church provide answers for a secular culture and equip the contemporary church for the task of missions and evangelism.

A native of Enid, Oklahoma, he holds degrees from Oklahoma Baptist University and Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He served as a pastor for thirty years before joining the faculty of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is currently Professor of Preaching and Pastoral Ministry at Samford University’s Beeson Divinity School.

Ken Medema is a blind singer, composer, and entertainer who has traveled all over the world touching millions of people’s lives. He delights and challenges listeners as he shares his music and improvises songs right on the spot. Many of you will remember Ken’s last visit to First Baptist Nashville on the Sunday following September 11, 2001.

Ken challenges Christians to be authentic and to nurture their imaginations. He has been referred to as a unique blend of poet, theologian, philosopher, and comedian whose music inspires listeners in their Christian walk. His comedic and satirical skills will leave you laughing, while his gifts as singer and storyteller evoke tears and powerful personal insights.
