I had a great experience with the First Baptist Nashville Mountain Movers men in Kalispell, Montana, this summer, serving with Easthaven Baptist Church, visiting with Pastor Daniel Lambert and friends, and learning what the Lord is doing to change their community for Christ. It makes me think of home, Nashville, and of my community where I live, and of your community where you live. You probably know that our work is not to just build a great church in our city, but rather to be the church that builds a great community for Christ. We are about community transformation, one person at a time. As school begins and our fall start-up opportunities crank up, we think of new opportunities for each of our First Baptist Nashville members and attendees to help our city know Christ personally. continue reading »

When I was first invited by my mother to work at Bonnaroo, I must say that I was a bit hesitant. I was unaware of the lack of electricity, running water, and food that did not cost an arm and a leg. Once my mother told me what it was like and the kind of work we would be doing, I knew that such an opportunity does not come often and I needed to go. continue reading »
