Get to know Jason...

What is your favorite time of day to read the Bible, why?

  • In the afternoon during the week - God's Word puts the seeming chaos of the past day in perspective.
  • Saturday morning - Saturday morning is by far my favorite time of the week to read the Bible. Without the constraints of a workday, Saturday morning provides a respite to spend time in God's Word with a hot cup of coffee.

What Scripture has been most important to you this past year?

  • 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 (NIV) - Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.

What Biblical character do you most relate with?

  • I desire for my life to reflect the character of Barnabus. Barnabus lived up to his name, "son of encouragement," by putting others first.

What book of the Bible do you turn to most frequently?

  • Matthew

What are the most thought provoking books you have read in the past year?

  • The Reason for God by Timothy Keller
  • When Helping Hurts: How to Alleviate Poverty Without Hurting the Poor… and Yourself by Steve Corbett and Brian Fikkert
  • Training in Christianity by Soren Kierkegaard

Tell us a bit about you and your wife...

Kristin and I have been married eight years. So far, we have lived in Boston, Massachusetts; Cookeville, Tennessee; Birmingham, Alabama; and now Nashville. We are looking forward to settling down in Nashville. We share our apartment with our two cats, Max and Lilly. We are expecting our first child in July!

Kristin was a sixth grade teacher for four years while we lived in Birmingham. She plans to be a stay-at-home mother after our child is born in July.

We both enjoy reading and exploring local coffee shops. Kristin also enjoys knitting and cooking.
