The Scholarship Committee is grateful for the thoughtfulness of First Baptist members who have endowed scholarship funds to honor loved ones. Due to the loss of market value of the funds as a result of the economic downturn, we have deemed it necessary to delay a year in further awarding of these funds, but would encourage our church members to contribute to these endowments which have and will continue to bless our college-bound students.
Thank you, Glenn Yarbrough, who established the Marion Yarbrough Scholarship to honor his wife's love of First Baptist Church and its students who attend any post-secondary institution. Thank you, family of Mr. and Mrs. James R. Cox, who established a scholarship to benefit FBC Nashville members attending Belmont University. We as a committee and as a church are grateful for your thoughtfulness and generosity in providing for so many students in years past and for years to come.
