MEN'S MINISTRY--a place to join and reach other men in their journey toward Christ-centeredness through the study of His Word, sharing life experiences, serving others, and embracing the outdoor creation of our Heavenly Father.
We strive to be Men of Favor... "To grow in wisdom, stature, and favor with God and man." (Luke 2:52)

A group of FBC men has been dreaming, discussing, and praying about how we might strengthen the faith of men of all ages. We've brainstormed topics such as men walking with Christ, reaching men who are seeking Christ, a men's mentoring program, father and son opportunities, men in adventure activities, men in service opportunities, and men growing in faith and discipleship to Christ. These men are forward thinking, dreaming, and ready to GO!

Several 2010 events for men are forming. A few are listed here:

  • Men's Prayer Breakfast--Friday, March 26 at 7:00 a.m. Speaker for this event is Dr. Daniel Lambert, Pastor of Easthaven Baptist Church in Kalispell, Montana.
  • Habitat for Humanity build this spring. The date is yet to be determined, but all First Baptist adults may participate.
  • Spring fishing outings, with both one-day and overnight adventures.
  • July fly-fishing and casting outing to Montana with backpacking adventure.
  • September fishing outing to Montana with a rafting & flyfishing adventure.
We are building our ministry focus around the following key themes:
  • Adventure--time to build relationships with other men, near and far, through adventure opportunities like camping, hiking, fishing, and learning new outdoor adventure experiences.
  • Serving--opportunities for men to serve others through mission trips, service days, assisting members in times of need, and helping others in disaster relief programs. Basic first aid training will be given.
  • Spiritual Focus & Mentoring--reaching men through spiritual development, whereby men gather and pray, study the Word of God, and share thoughts and experiences to help each other face challenges or changes in life.
You may have other ministry ideas. Men, we need your areas of expertise and experience!
