by Angie Poore, director of food service
It seems lately as I approach the church parking lot, I think to myself, "Wow, a few more weeks and I will have served as your food service director for 10 years! Where has the time gone? How many meals have I served to the church family, guests, and CDC children?"
Well, I put my calculator to work and attempted to figure it out. I have served at a minimum of 350,000 meals!
Now, that's a lot of chicken! How did I do it? My wonderful staff and volunteers. It takes a lot of hands to prepare and serve meals on a daily basis. The staff and volunteers are always eager to give a helping hand, any day, any time. Some volunteers work as many hours as a part-time job and have been serving longer than I have! Each one plays a vital role in the day-to-day functions of the kitchen. I would be lost without them.
Please help me thank them for their years of hard work, love, friendship, and dedication to the Food Service Ministry of First Baptist Nashville. I am thankful that the talent God gave each one of them was one of food service. I am honored to work beside them! They are truly a blessing, and one day they will surely hear, "Well done, good and faithful servant!"
