Building Bridges Day
Saturday, May 16
8:00 a.m. - Noon
Plan now to save May 16 for First Baptist Nashville's Building Bridges Day. This day will be dedicated to outreach and service to those in our community. There is a place for everyone to be involved. Please consider how you might be a part of one of these teams:
Martha O'Bryan Center -- two teams are needed. One team will work to transform a playground into a garden for visitors and staff members to enjoy. The other team will be power washing and painting.
Bethany Christian Services -- a team of church members will assemble outreach kits to birth mothers. These kits include items to help them remember and reflect on the new baby.
No-sew Blankets -- blankets will be made for
Homeless Survival Kits -- part of ongoing outreach for church members to assist those in need. A team will assemble kits of essentials so that church members will have these kits on hand to reach the homeless.
Prayer Walk -- a team of prayer warriors will pray in areas around the church and also in several locations where we will be serving. The prayer team is an essential part of Building Bridges Day.
Park Outreach -- teams will spread out downtown to visit area parks. We will provide water, dog bones and Frisbees to those enjoying the day with their families or pets.
Freedom Recovery Community -- a team of gardeners and others who enjoy outside work will help ready the FRC courtyard for summer. Flower beds and planters will be tended and general clean-up will also be done.
Fannie Battle Skating Party -- our
Outreach to Downtown Workers -- help us reach those working in the downtown area as we bake and deliver treats to those in our own backyard.
Most projects are appropriate for children over the age of 5. Childcare will be provided at no cost for children under the age of 5.
Please pray about which project best fits your gifts. Team leaders are still needed! Email Sara Hylton if you are interested in leading one of these teams (sarahylton@comcast.net). You'll want to sign up early as some teams will be limited in size.
