Every year we have one of those late winter snows that's gone by the time you can warm up your car. Just like the one a few weeks ago, we had a similar freak snow several years ago early on a Sunday morning; it had generally melted by the time Sunday School was starting. It will always stand out to me because it reaffirmed why I teach children in Sunday School.
Like all the children, then-second grader Caroline Lankford came in talking about the snow. Rather than wishing there were more of it or that it had lasted longer, she was worried. "What if I would not have been able to come to church?"
Wow! She loved being inside these walls at First Baptist and learning about God with her friends. And that doesn't just happen on Sunday mornings but throughout the week and throughout our church and community. More importantly, it happens at home where parents like Wes and Julie model their love for God and their church, for their children, and for service to others.
It's a privilege to work alongside families in this vital partnership. Come join us--there are lots of ways to help!
