Stewardship and the Youth

When students list spiritual disciplines, stewardship is almost never included on their lists. Most teens believe that it is the responsibility of their parents to tithe and give monetarily to the church. While it is true that not all students have sources of income, many still have allowances. During these trying economic times, the church depends on every penny it receives. Many young people may think that the size of their tithe is negligible and unimportant, but the habits formed will lead to a lifetime of faithful stewardship. The youth benefit in many different ways through the giving of the congregation. The church provides scholarships for students to go to camp along with other events. The church also provides fantastic leadership to guide and direct the youth. Tithing is both a rewarding and fulfilling duty that God calls everyone to--young and old.
