Easter Sunday is always a great day for us at First Baptist Nashville and this year is no exception. We'll gather for worship to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus by singing our songs of faith and sharing the gospel story that defines us as people of hope. This year's Easter message is a part of the Forgiveness series. I hope you will invite someone to join you for worship and Bible study. Everyone at First Baptist needs to be committed to reaching someone for Christ and there's no better day to invite a friend than Easter Sunday!
We'll follow Easter with the First Arts Festival as local artists fill our foyer with works of art based on the theme of Forgiveness. You will want to spend some time in our foyer the weekend of April 17-19 to see the art for yourself. This year we are extending the exhibit an additional week so that you may invite a co-worker, friend, or family member to enjoy the art as well. Ken Medema will sing the artist's story back to the congregation on Sunday, April 19, in an unforgettable day of worship. Again, this will be a great day to invite someone to worship with you. They will hear about God's forgiveness through Ken's gift of music and see the artwork on display before, during, and after worship.
I know you join me in thanking God for leading us to our new Worship and Music Pastor, Joe Fitzpatrick. Joe will join us May 1 to begin his ministry with First Baptist Nashville. Pray for Joe's transition and for his family who will join him after school is out for summer break. We are in for some very exciting days of ministry ahead of us. I'm told that there are choir robes available for new choir members! There's probably no better way to welcome Joe than to find a place in FBC's Music Ministry where you can serve.
Church family, you are a blessing!
See you Sunday, Frank R. Lewis
