Goodbye Josh & Josh... Welcome Lele

As you read this article, First Baptist's student ministry is in an incredible state of transition with Josh Crosby's departure. While his move undoubtedly leaves us tremendously saddened, we also have reason to rejoice because of the strong ministry he leaves behind. Under his leadership, the student ministry developed the 7 Absolutes-Authentic Faith, Spiritual Disciplines, Moral Boundaries, Healthy Friendships, Wise Choices, Ultimate Authority, and Others First-which are the bedrocks for the ministry. He was persistent in his efforts to nurture mentoring relationships even when doing so was difficult. He cultivated a strong core of parents and volunteers and allowed himself to be strengthened and guided by them, and he helped develop strong leaders in our students. Most importantly, he made sure his priorities were in order, with a love for Christ and for his family that is greater than his love for ministry. We could hope for no better example and legacy from a minister.

As we depart, we welcome Lele Fain who will guide the daily operations of the student ministry and work with a strong core of leaders to ensure that the vibrant ministry here continues. We also point you to the leadership of Cody Carroll and Lori Towns who will help carry on our vision to reach college students through The Bridge. Please be in prayer for this strong group of leaders during this interim time.
