Fireproof Your Life: When the Family Enrichment Committee of First Baptist Nashville outlined a major outreach proposal designed to help us strengthen families and reach out to those who serve our community in the Fire and Police Departments, I was reminded of how consistent these efforts are to our Building Bridges commitments AND to our proposed Core Vaalues. It's one great example of bringing to bear the strengths of First Baptist Nashville to minister and serve not only our members, but our community as well. I hope that in the weeks ahead you will invite people to worship at First Baptist as I seek to preach on the subject of fireproofing your life. Proverbs 19:16 says, "He who obeys instructions guards his life, but he who is contemptuous of his ways will die." During the Fireproofing Your Life sermon series we will look at the ways we can apply this passage of scripture in a meaningful and productive way.

Servant Warriors: In our third Servant Warriors class I will be teaching defensive strategies for men to win at home, work, and in their leisure times. We'll spend about an hour each week using our Samurai swords for a physical workout, then move toward a Bible study on the topic of a man's defensive strategies against the enemy's attack in our spiritual lives. Men, if you've been a part of Servant Warriors in the past, I hope you will join us again. If you've never been a part of Servant Warriors, feel free to join us. The class is open to all men of First Baptist Nashville. You'll need to contact my office about ordering your sword, so please call Amanda today at 664-6010.
Search Committees, Building Bridges, The Bridge, and more: With the beginning of a new church year, there are many exciting things taking place at First Baptist Nashville. Our renovation projects are coming to a close in Fellowship Hall, Fidelis, and other Sunday School rooms. Now is the time for concerted prayer efforts as we continue seeking the Lord's plan for filling staff vacancies while moving forward with ministry in our community. Please find time this week after you read this Evangel and make it a point to spend some time in prayer asking the Lord's blessing as we seek to serve Him.
Church Family, you are a blessing to me!
