Child Development Center Receives 3-Star Rating
PUBLISHED IN THE EVANGEL // April 10, 2008by Sandra Gentry, CDC director
The staff at the CDC has received notice that once again they've been awarded a 3-star rating, the top for the state of Tennessee. In fact, for the second consecutive year, three stars were awarded in all seven components of the assessment program: Director Qualifications; Compliance History; Professional Development; Parent/Family Involvement; Ratio and Group Size; Staff Compensation; and Program Assessment. Classrooms being assessed this year, Infant and PreK, received scores of 5.33 and 5.5 respectively, out of a possible 7.0. Statewide averages for these two age groups between August 2005 and July 2006 (time frame reported) were 3.98 and 4.59.
The Child Development Center currently has an enrollment of 64 children, serving some 52 families from at least seven Middle Tennessee counties. We count it a privilege to minister to families such as these who work in the downtown area.
