As cooler weather makes it way (finally) to the Middle Tennessee area, First Baptist Nashville is looking forward to several “fall” events. I hope you will join us to make each one a special time for our church and community.
First is Trunk or Treat sponsored by our Children’s Ministry. We are moving it outdoors this year to the gated parking lot between our building and the Sommet Center. There will be inflatables, games and candy galore, a few magic acts, face painting, and lots of fun for children and their families. FBC members are needed to make the night a big success. Call our Children’s Ministry Office (664-6023) to find out ways you can help, and be sure to tell families in your neighbor-hood about the big event on our campus. We want a record crowd this year.
Second, you will not want to miss a special time of worship on Sunday night, November 11, as FBC presents new Deacons during the evening worship service. We will also celebrate communion together.
Finally, make your plans now to join us for the First Baptist Nashville Thanksgiving Luncheon on Monday, November 19. For the second year in a row we will invite our Thursday Business Lunch friends to join us for what many said was a highlight of their year in 2006. The meal will be delicious and the opportunity to make a new friend at the table will help make the celebration of thanks even more meaningful.
All of this takes place during a time when we really need your prayer support. Your church staff will be seeking the heart and mind of God together in a retreat setting November 4 – 6. Please pray for us while we are away. Pray for your Nominating Committee as they seek the Lord’s leadership in nominating a Minister of Music Search Committee. Finally, pray for a spirit of revival to be experienced at First Baptist Nashville. We are at a significant point in the life of our church. I believe God wants to do something among us that is good and refreshing, but it will only happen as we pray!
Join us Sunday as we continue looking at the Lord’s Prayer in an effort to become people who pray like Jesus!
