SUNDAY SCHOOL enlistment is well underway for the new year! August 5 is Advancement Day. Our teachers begin a new year of studies that day. August 12 is our Sunday School Extravaganza at noon—we have enlisted several of the best Sunday School leaders in the nation to help us. Our theme is INVITE. I am INVITING YOU now, Sunday School leaders, to be with us. We’ll provide a great meal and be out by mid-afternoon following age-group training for every Sunday School leader. Come One, Come All!

THANK YOU for your kindnesses and prayers during the extended illnesses we’ve faced in our families. You are a wonderful church family, for whom Jackie and I are deeply grateful. You have endeared yourselves to us quickly. My mother and sister are doing well and adjusting to the passing of my father. Please continue to keep them in prayer. My father was a hero to me—he was a man who loved the Lord, loved his family second only to the Lord, and raised me with those same values plus the value of embracing the great world God created. Dad was patriotic and loved the United States. He served in WWII, and fought willingly in D-Day and the Battle of the Bulge among others. Dad left a legacy that will not wither, because his is rooted in the Lord.
YOU HAVE been so gracious to us—thank you for your many inquiries, genuine concern, cards, notes, and prayers. We want to learn what the Lord desires to teach us in all of this. And, we remain convinced of His Faithfulness in it all! God bless you. Thank you for your love.
