Vacation Bible School

First Baptist invites all children ages 4 (as of October 1, 2006) through grade 6 to join us for lots of excitement and great challenges. Put on your game face and hit the playing field as you find out what it really means to be a hero! Game Day Central is a unique experience that will challenge our athletes (a.k.a. kids) and teach them how to be true heroes. Bible stories, music, crafts, recreation, and snacks are all combined to provide kids with an adventure-filled week designed especially for them. Along the way, athletes will test their limits on the playing field and learn what makes someone a real hero.

We are happy to offer this remarkable adventure to our children and their friends. We have trained an excellent group of Coaches (teachers, that is!) for the big game. Each day the athletes (grades 1-6) will begin to gather in the Rec Center at 8:45am before going to the Bible Study Locker Room at 9:00am. The preschool athletes (fours & fives) will go directly to their classrooms to begin the game. For extra fun, there will be a special daily emphasis.

MONDAY Put Your Game Face On! You will be given a temporary tattoo this morning to wear for the day!

FRIDAY Go Team Wear a t-shirt or jersey from your favorite team!

Each day will conclude at noon at the Worship Rally Arena, a time of singing, mission stories, drama video and giving of an offering. This will conclude the day for some athletes, and parents will need to pick up their athletes from their Bible Study Locker Room (your child's Bible study class).

VBS Plus

There is still more fun planned with VBS Plus, which begins at noon Monday - Friday with lunch brought from home. After lunch we will gather at the Recreation Center to begin our sports activities with the Infinity Sports team. Infinity Sports operates in a covenant relationship with Great Commission Christian organizations to mobilize Christian sports resources, Christian sportsmen and sportswomen, into closed and restricted access locations for the purpose of evangelism and church planting among Unreached People Groups and Major Gateway Cities. The cost will be $50 per child ($25 each additional child, same family). This includes 5 days of sports classes, t-shirt, group picture and snack.

Children will be grouped according to age: 1st-3rd graders together and 4th-6th graders together.

Preschool 4s and 5s will also meet for VBS Plus (teachers will plan their schedule) in the afternoons in rooms 355 and 356, at a cost of $25.00 per child.

Families who register early will receive a free CD of this year's VBS music.

On Wednesday night, June 27, parents can come back with their athlete and share the adventure with us at VBS Family Night! Parents are invited to come and visit their children's rooms from 5:30-6:00pm. Dinner will be served at 5:00pm and our Game Day Central program will follow at 6:10pm.
