Crow's Corner

by Tom Crow, executive pastor

DURING THE APRIL BUSINESS MEETING, the church heard an excellent report on the good health of our Child Development Center under the leadership of Sandra Gentry. YEA! We also officially commended Rev. John Cox, pastor’s intern, on being such an outstanding team member to the pastor and staff this year.

TWO NEW STAFF positions were authorized and searches are ensuing. The church voted to seek and call a Minister of Outreach through Building Bridges contributions. This person will reside in Downtown Nashville, will assist us in reaching downtown residents and business friends, and will lead us in outreach and evangelism. Two years of sup-port/benefits/housing assistance were authorized.

A Minister to Adults with emphasis on young adults (single and married adults) was also authorized. This ministerial position is provided for in the 2007 church budget and will assist us in ministry with adults.

I will work with the Senior Pastor and the Personnel Committee in searching for these two persons. The church con-firmed the lead of Personnel Committee chairman Art Burcham for members of two Interview Screening Committees. These committees are comprised of:

Minister of Outreach: Jim Bryson, chair, Kim Williams, Alene Harris, Peggy Hollis, Randy Smith, Tom Crow

Minister to Adults:
Mark Smith, chair, Brenda Harris, Rusty McIntire, Jesse Sproul, Jason Shull, Janie West, Tom Crow

PLEASE PRAY for these two searches and for members of these interview committees. Your recommendations are welcome! Please submit recommendations via e-mail to lori.towns@firstbaptistnashville.org or via written letter to:
