Annual Picnic Is June 3

PUBLISHED IN THE EVANGEL // May 7, 2007

by Sam Sanders, minister of recreation and senior adults

Our annual church picnic will take place on Sunday afternoon, June 3, at our regular place, the beautiful Joe C. Davis YMCA camp on Percy Priest Lake. This has been a great time for us for several years now—all we need is you and good weather for it to be another fine day. The picnic is a great opportunity to bring friends and neighbors, especially if they might be interested in our church. Watch your mailbox for directions and times. We rent the camp, complete with the YMCA staff, and provide our own food, grilled outside.

There is no charge to anyone for this event. Some of the attractions at the camp include horse riding, swimming, mountain climb, zip line, boat rides, beach, canoes, and a comfortable, air-conditioned lodge. We conclude our day at the camp with a worship service on the grass at dusk and celebrating the Lord’s supper.
