Be His Voice
PUBLISHED IN THE EVANGEL // April 25, 2007by Kim Williams, Chair, Building Bridges Steering Team
Dear Congregation,
It has been 6 months since we stood together on the Shelby Street Pedestrian Bridge and prayed for our city, but “Building Bridges” is not just about an event on a bridge.
It has been a little longer than 6 months since we decided that “Building Bridges” is a great theme for a campaign about our mission in Downtown Nashville, but “Building Bridges” is not just about a campaign theme.
In the past 6 months, we signed Commitment Cards, formed new Task Forces, and moved forward with plans to expand our ministerial staff, but “Building Bridges” is not just about words on paper or revised organizational charts.
Here is what “Building Bridges” is about—that in everything we do, individually and as a congregation, we are thought-fully, prayerfully and deliberately joining God in His work to “build a caring community of faith that mediates the transforming love of Christ beginning in Downtown
Nashville and extending around the world.”
My prayer is that each of us will ask God today how He wants us to build a bridge: to be His voice,
to spread His love, and to share with our City the Good News of Jesus Christ.
Blessings,
Kim Williams
Building Bridges Steering Team Chairman
