On Sunday mornings, we have Bible studies specifically targeting the age groups, life stages and needs of our adults. It helps us connect according to ages and life situations. Community is critical to our Christian walk. Let’s start here.
Life Change University Opportunities
Want to further connect with other adults at First Baptist Nashville? We have discipleship and support courses for members and guests. Most begin Sundays at 5 p.m. unless noted otherwise. For more information, contact Lori Towns at email@example.com.
Sometimes, you need a small group in the middle of the week to connect to and pray with. Our small group Bible studies, known as First Communities, do just that. Based on location and not age, these groups meet at various times throughout the week and offer spiritual and emotional support. To find the nearest First Community near you, contact Brandon Owen at firstname.lastname@example.org.
On Wednesdays at 6:10 p.m., our church family gathers for a time of prayer and togetherness in Fellowship Hall. It’s a time to reconnect in the middle of the week and to be spiritually refreshed.
Have a song in your heart? Lots of us do here. That’s why we have such a large and vibrant Music Ministry at First Baptist Nashville. We’d love to have your voice and/or instrumental gifts. Join us!
At First Baptist Nashville, we want to help our men be Men of Faith - strong, courageous, trusting and serving, who have the faith of a mustard seed to be Mountain Movers. Our Men's Ministry is a place to join and reach other men in their journey toward Christ-centeredness through the study of His Word, sharing life experiences, serving others, and embracing the outdoor creation of our Heavenly Father. We provide spiritual development opportunities throughout the year, focusing on service and adventure.
The purpose of First Women is to meet the spiritual, physical, and emotional needs of women at First Baptist Nashville and within our community. This ministry is designed to encourage women to grow in their faith in Christ, to develop and strengthen intimate friendships with other women, and to provide opportunities to serve and reach our community for Christ.
National Day of Prayer
Each year, First Baptist Nashville sponsors a breakfast on the National Day of Prayer. We have a keynote speaker and special musical guests. Several hundred individuals from our city gather on this special morning. For more information, contact Tom Crow at email@example.com.
Veterans Day Outreach
What better way to say thanks to our veterans than through a special day in honor of them? First Baptist Nashville will typically have a lunch or honor our church family veterans during Sunday Sanctuary Service. We always take time to honor our city’s veterans during the Nashville Veterans Day Parade. For more information, contact Tom Crow at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Fourth of July Outreach
The Fourth of July is huge in Nashville! Thousands of people come to admire the spectacular fireworks. What better way to reach those people than to step outside our front door and provide water and goodies to our friends. It’s a fun way to be a witness in our city.
The Nashville Christmas Parade is one of the longest standing traditions here in downtown Nashville. We take part every year in creating a float, providing restrooms for onlookers, and passing out hot beverages. Our float is usually one of the only floats to portray the Nativity and we are honored to share what Christmas means to us!
Father/Daughter and Mother/Son Dinners
During these dinners, parents are welcomed to bring their little or grown children for special nights of memories, amazing food, and fun. Here at First Baptist Nashville, we want to always promote the special bond between parent and child.
Each year, our church family travels to Elizabethton, Tenn., to teach Vacation Bible School, complete home repair projects, and provide school supplies for children in need. It’s a great time to serve this impoverished area and get to know people at First Baptist Nashville better.
Every May, we gather together on a Sunday afternoon for food and tons of fun for the Churchwide Picnic! Our entire congregation is invited to come have lunch, play games, go canoeing, swim, and so much more! Following the afternoon activities, we have a brief worship service. It’s one of the most memorable days of the year for us. Bring some sunscreen and don’t miss out on the fun!
In the past, we’ve taken mission trips to Canada, Guatemala, Haiti, Bonnaroo Music Festival, Wales, Gambia, and others. Our missions committee is active and would love your participation! On top of mission trips, we take part in service projects at the Messiah Medical Clinic, Room In The Inn, and Habitat for Humanity, and we also have monthly collections for various organizations.
