“I will praise you, O Lord, among the nations; I will sing of you among the peoples. For great is your love, higher than the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens, and let your glory be over all the earth” (Psalm 108:3-5).

Deep Need to Praise God

Has anyone ever asked you why you praise God? Why you come to church every Sunday morning and Wednesday night? Though I've never had anyone specifically ask me these questions, I'm not sure that I would be able to answer them.

Everyone has a different reason he or she praises God. I tried to figure out my reason, and I kept coming back to the same thing: God is faithful. I see His faithfulness in every step taken, every word spoken, and every breath breathed. Nothing that happens is a coincidence.

I love the little ways God reminds me that He's still looking out for me, even when I may have given up on Him. I love how the sermon or devotional always seems to be about exactly what I'm going through or struggling with at the moment I am struggling with it.

God is always faithful. When I give up on Him, He doesn't give up on me and brings me back. His answer is always better than my answer. He keeps me from becoming overwhelmed by this fast-paced life. He said He would never give me more than I can bear, and He is faithful in His promise by bearing my load for me.

That's why I praise God. Why do you?
