“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard” (Psalm 19:1-3).

God Created Earth's Beauty

A few years ago, I was settling into a new job and my husband, Robert, also needed a career change. With faith that God had a good plan for our family, he resigned his position. Despite our financial uncertainties, our family took a vacation that we really needed.

The weather at Rosemary Beach was very disappointing--cloudy and rainy. But as darkness fell each night on the beach, the clouds lifted and I sat for hours, marveling at the night sky and listening to the ocean's music. I prayed a lot. One night I wondered how God heard everyone's prayers. There are so many of us and so many problems. Does He really hear each simultaneous prayer offered by all His people all over the world?

As I peered into the sky, God spoke to me. He said, "Of course I do. Look at all these stars. I made them all. I placed each one in the sky to rule the night. I hear your prayers and all the prayers of my people." That night the heavens declared the glory of God to me, and I took great comfort in His creation and Jesus' presence in my life.

God has taken wonderful care of us, providing a new job opportunity for Robert and stability for our family. If your life is uncertain now, I encourage you to peer into the night sky this Christmas season. Long ago the Star of Bethlehem appeared to the wise men who traveled to worship Jesus, the Bright and Morning Star. He alone can bring true peace and comfort. I pray that God blesses you and your family in a special star-studded way this Christmas season.
